Other articles we have posted recently have been all about the importance for employers finding and developing future employees that have in-demand, future-relevant skills. Taking on this challenge requires employers to develop some familiarity with what we expect the future to look like, and what employee skills we expect will be essential down the road.

It seems that in the future it will be as important for employers to consider and capture in their strategies the social impact of their operations, and important for businesses and governments alike to invest in impactful education, so that future workforce entrants will understand the social impact aspects of their jobs and the missions of the companies they go to work for.
The writing in this article is “professorial” and academic in tone, put it does highlight an important aspect of the future of doing business, and that is the need for an employer’s engagement in having positive social impacts on society, as well as driving shareholder returns…..certainly worth taking into account.
