Our Role

Finding and keeping good people is a challenge for most businesses, even in the best of labour markets and economic times. The Employer Leadership Council (ELC) is an unique forum for local employers to discuss experiences, challenges and concerns about the process of recruiting and retaining good employees.

The ELC is a new initiative of the Workforce Planning Board of York Region, a partnership of York Region and South Simcoe’s employers, employment service providers, educators and policy makers. Together they bring a diverse representation of employers across the region to develop relationships and share knowledge in order to help our members hire and retain the employees they need today and in the future.
